Council Member Krekorian is matching our funds to restore the Lars Hawkes Sculpture.
The project is to build 432 apartment units including 48 low income units, 541 parking spaces and 22,000 square feet of ground floor retail in a seven story building. They will use solar panels on 15% of the roof area and plant drought-tolerant native flora.
The Project is a new force main sewer in Victory Boulevard between Vineland Avenue and Haskell Street. The Draft EIR is available for public review, and comments will be accepted through July 29th. There will be a public meeting on July 11.
The Alternatives Analysis Report recommends that the Nordhoff-North Hollywood Route move forward to be evaluated during the next phase of environmental review. This alternative received the highest level of public support as it serves the CSUN Campus and connects to the regional rail system in North Hollywood. The use of Parthenia to pass under the 405 Freeway was also supported by the public because it would avoid traffic congestion on Nordhoff or Roscoe at the freeway, and it would serve multi-family residential areas in Panorama City.
