As a result of COVID-19 and the Safer at Home order, StreetsLA is taking this opportunity to pave and sweep major streets through our new Adjusted Deployment to Accelerate Paving in High Traffic Corridors (ADAPT) program.
COVID-19 has necessitated the closure of many locations – especially gyms – where people experiencing homelessness had showered in the past. As a result, the Center’s five showers are in high demand. On a recent Tuesday alone the site provided more than 50 showers. The Center is in need of donations, especially disposable razors, small shampoo bottles, small bars of soap, toothbrushes, deodorant, and female and male underwear, in all sizes. The items can be sent to Hope of the Valley’s Pacoima office, 11076 Norris Ave., Pacoima, 91331. Those donating items are asked to write NAVIGATION CENTER on the address/label.

This three-story low-rise supportive housing development is planned to offer critical supportive housing in North Hollywood.
One year ago, the intersection of Ben Avenue and Victory Boulevard in North Hollywood experienced severe flooding. Water actually covered the entire floor of the popular Lilit Bakery & Cafe, which was forced to close for several days. This storm water infrastructure project that will alleviate flooding at that intersection and the surrounding community. It is due to be completed in December.
The first Navigation Center in LA has opened in the Valley on Sherman Way near Lankershim. It includes storage, showers, restrooms and support staff to help those experiencing homeless to find a way forward.
This 49-unit project will include 48 permanent supportive housing units along with one manager unit and is located at 11604-11616 Vanowen St. in North Hollywood.
Voters will now have between three and ten days before election day to cast their ballots. Additionally, voters will be able to pre-select their choices for each office through an interactive sample ballot, which will produce a unique QR code that can be scanned by the new voting machines.
