COVID-19 has necessitated the closure of many locations – especially gyms – where people experiencing homelessness had showered in the past. As a result, the Center’s five showers are in high demand. On a recent Tuesday alone the site provided more than 50 showers. The Center is in need of donations, especially disposable razors, small shampoo bottles, small bars of soap, toothbrushes, deodorant, and female and male underwear, in all sizes. The items can be sent to Hope of the Valley’s Pacoima office, 11076 Norris Ave., Pacoima, 91331. Those donating items are asked to write NAVIGATION CENTER on the address/label.
In 2019 NHNENC weighed in on City Council matters, considered and recommended local land use projects, funded the Lars Hawks sculpture restoration and supported many educational, service-focused and fun events to bring the community together. Our 2020 Vision includes you! We have a number of seats open on the Board and we invite you to join us. This year we will continue to carefully evaluate and make a difference in land use, beautification and community needs for North Hollywood and you can too!
North Hollywood North East Neighborhood Council is proud to collaborate with the Office of Councilmember Krekorian to fund this beautification project and restore the sculptures to their original state.
Thanks to all our great volunteers for joining us and cleaning up on June 15, 2019 to make our community a little better.
NHNENC is sponsoring NoHo Summer Nights! Enjoy live music and experience the arts with family and friends at NoHo Summer Nights, your must-see, family-friendly event series in the East San Fernando Valley. This year, in addition to the headliner, we will kick off each concert with performances by the best local and emerging talent around.
North Hollywood North East Neighborhood Council in partnership with the Office of Councilmember Krekorian invite you to a community clean up on June 15. Tools will be provided. Meet us at the Fire Station 89 Community Room.
This is your chance to have a seat at the table in the room where it happens! We are excited to welcome prospective members to run for a seat. Candidates should have a passion for making a difference in North Hollywood North East. Register by March 4.
Students learned about financial planning from Wells Fargo, scholarships from New Directions for Youth and met a recruiter from UCLA.
