Student Advisory Board on Education
November 5 - November 8
For more than 40 years, student representatives from across California have met annually to find ways to improve our schools. The Student Advisory Board on Education (SABE) is a 4-day long conference where students develop proposals on issues in the California education system that they identified as most pertinent. In this conference, they‘ll use their skills to find an ideal solution and convert it into an action plan that will be later presented to the California Board of Education. Additionally, at SABE, delegates have the opportunity to vote on the next year’s state Student Board Member of the California Board of Education, their vote representing millions of students across the state.
This once in a lifetime opportunity offers students, such as the youth members in our community, a chance to create a monumental impact on the Californian education system, have a direct voice in legislation that affects them, meet students from different parts of the state, and so much more. For any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact the Education Policy Director at sue.oh@casc.net or reply all to this email.
