DESCRIPTION:This will be the unveiling of the Contemporary Museum of Temporary Containers. We worked with the local teens and senior groups\, and collected nearly 1500 single-use food containers from the families who use the Valley Plaza Park in North Hollywood. We will make a sprawling display of the community’s collection\, spanning the north side of the park. The containers are sorted and colored according to size and material. The project aims to make banal food container something worthy of closer viewing\, while contemplating creative reuse and the limits of sustainability and recycling at a critical juncture of environmental responsibility. \nLearn about the state of recycling and zero waste from experts. DESCRIPTION:Register Now \nLos Angeles\, CA (June 11\, 2018) – In an effort to highlight the importance of financial education in schools\, the North Hollywood North East Neighborhood Council (NHNENC) has partnered with Wells Fargo and the Youth Policy Institute to host “Money Moves: Youth Financial Empowerment\,” an event to build financial literacy amongst teens and tweens on Saturday\, June 16th from 11am to 4pm at Valley Plaza Recreation Center 12240 Archwood St\, North Hollywood\, CA 91606. \nFollowing the success of the NHNENC’s 1st Youth Empowerment Series session “Rise Above Adversity\,” with Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors actor Kamil McFadden and world renowned motivational speaker Billionaire P.A.\, this event is highly anticipated within the North Hollywood community. This workshop is an opportunity for registered students ages 13-17\, and their parents to engage in a financial discussion and to learn personal financial literacy concepts. \n“We are extremely excited to host the second session of the Youth Empowerment Series for the students in our community and provide them with tools that will help them build a solid foundation for their financial futures\,” said SheRise Ford\, NHNENC Youth Empowerment Committee – Chairman. “Our goal is to help jump-start the conversation on financial literacy.
