The City of LA and the office of Councilman Paul Krekorian are excited to announce the second annual LA Bioblitz Challenge, which runs September 1-30.

To help protect and support wildlife in the City of Los Angeles, participants are encouraged to crowdsource photographs of animals, insects, and plants around their homes, neighborhoods, parks, and other areas across the city using the iNaturalist app.

The observations contributed to the challenge will help map the city’s existing native biodiversity, and assist researchers in determining the distribution of wildlife and health of the environment.

The LA BioBlitz Challenge is an exciting collaboration between the Los Angeles Public Library’s Neighborhood Science Initiative and LA Sanitation and Environment’s Biodiversity Program.
