SUMMARY:Congressional Art Competition Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Congressman Cárdenas wants to invite all High School Students to participate in the 2020 Annual Congressional Art Competition. The Congressional art competition is open to all high school students who reside in the 29th congressional district. We decided to make it a photography competition to be easier for the students to participate\, as they are home. However\, we are still accepting the different mediums accepted by the Congressional Art Institute if the student prefers to submit a different art piece rather than a photography. \nThe winning piece of art from each congressional district is displayed in an eleven month exhibit in the Cannon Tunnel that leads into the U.S. Capitol alongside the winning artwork from other congressional districts across the nation. The winner will be flown to Washington\, DC for a reception at the end of July. \nAll artwork must be submitted to the Office of Congressman Tony Cardenas located at 9612 Van Nuys Blvd. Suite 201\, Panorama City\, CA 91402 no later than May 30\, 2020 or online to Lea.Gonzalez@mail.house.gov if they choose to submit a photo. Artwork entered in the contest may be no larger than 26”X26”X4” when framed and may not weight more than 15 pounds. All entries must be original concept\, design\, and execution\, and must be two dimensional. \n\n2020-Rules-for-Students-and-Teachers\n2020 Student Information and Release form\n\nPlease contact 818-388-0226 or email Lea.Gonzalez@mail.house.gov if you have any questions about the competition. \nWe encourage for the students to submit any art they have done at school or at their own time at home to be submitted.

These issues will be addressed by online seminars and through the COVID-19 HERO project created by PESA. The COVID-19 HERO project is composed of the youth being educated on the value of not making offensive racial remarks concerning what race could have caused the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition the COVID-19 HERO series educate the youth about the COVID-19 virus and what they can do to prevent the spread of it\, giving them the opportunity to being a COVID-19 HERO by writing a letter describing how they are a COVID-19 HERO and receiving a certificate of being a COVID-19 HERO. \nMay 23\, 2020 Special Board Meeting Agenda
