Schools Not Free for Neighborhood Councils
The North Hollywood North East Neighborhood Council has been happy to meet at the Strathern and Arminta Elementary schools for a long time. The principals of these fine institutions have allowed us to use their space for free and the Council has been happy to support the schools in return. But faced with significant deficits, the LAUSD leadership is requiring neighborhood groups like the Neighborhood Council to start paying fees to use the schools for meetings. How will this affect the Council? Where will we be meeting in the future? It's all up in the air.
